Dr. Gonzalo Gonzalez is our Director of Music. Dr. Gonzalez is originally from Spain and comes from a family of musicians. He studied music at the University of Miami where he earned a double Bachelor of Music in Music Engineering and Keyboard Performance. In 2000 Gonzalo won first prize in the university’s Chopin Piano Competition. After graduating he went on to study composition earning both a Master and Doctoral degrees in Music Composition and winning several awards for his work.
Prior to coming to St. Peter Dr. Gonzalez was the Director of Music at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Miami and an Adjunct Professor of music theory, ear-training/sight-singing, orchestration, and counterpoint at the University of Miami and at Florida International University.
Gonzalo’s music is published through International Liturgy Publications and is steadily growing in popularity.
He lives in Jupiter with his wife and two children.
